Tape recorder?

I’m looking into buying a tape recorder (something like here: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-TCM-210DV-Standard-Cassette-Recorder/dp/B0002TQQUW/ref=pd_bbs_3/105-6613989-8871634?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1187205905&sr=8-3). I’m on a bit of a budget, so I’m not looking for the top of the line, just something that will work for a student who would like to tape a class or speech every once and a while. I would love any suggestions from someone who has one that works well. Basically, I would like to know which to look into more and which to just avoid.

I like the digital ones. Just as good (if not better) than the cassette based recorders. There’s no tapes to buy and you can download directly to the computer for archiving. Here’s one on Amazon made by Sony: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-ICD-P520-Digital-Recorder-Compatible/dp/B000N288Z4/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/102-1185136-1517753?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1187206409&sr=1-3

Hope this helps!

Novelist Cormac McCarthy’s literary vision of the wild west is given wide-screen treatment by maverick director Billy Bob Thornton and a cast that includes Matt Damon, Penelope Cruz, and Bruce Dern. “Just remember, she might be pint-sized, but she’s quite a woman.” The original surfer girl gets her own three-film DVD collection, dippy fun from a more innocent time. 1959′s Gidget made real surfers nauseated, but it’s a kicky movie with some great lounge-era lingo. Sandra Dee, perkiness personified, plays the curious teen who breaks the gender line in surfing. She’s also got the attention of su…

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (The Gruesome Edition)

This wild, operatic 1986 sequel to 1974′s low-budget horror hit–The Texas Chainsaw Massacre–is an extraordinary film that demonstrates just how far filmmaker Tobe Hooper had grown in the interim between the two movies. (Between the two movies, Hooper directed, among other things, the Spielberg production Poltergeist, the critically admired Lifeforce, and the spooky remake of Invaders from Mars.)…
